Burundi

In 2020, Burundi will continue the development of its INFF with support from the UN Joint SDG Fund.

The INFF is expected to strengthen Burundi’s financing architecture and ecosystem to catalyse and leverage greater financial resources for the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. This will be achieved by strengthening integrated planning and budgeting, identifying new public-private collaborations and strengthening transparency, accountability, and monitoring and evaluation of public expenditure and service delivery in critical SDG sectors.

The INFF aims to strengthen the financing architecture of the SDGs by enhancing resource mobilisation, planning and budgeting, evidence generation, and strengthened accountability (monitoring and evaluation). To achieve this objective, the INFF will have two main focus areas: (i) strengthen the national architecture for better planning and financing of the SDGs; and (ii) catalyse the implementation of the SDGs by strengthening local planning and financing. The planned activities at both levels will support and complement and contribute towards a vertically and horizontally integrated approach.
