With a complex governance system set up by the Dayton Peace Agreement, the INFF process is an essential contribution to foster dialogue and support government at national and sub-national levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH). The INFF will help BIH establish an ecosystem for the systemic financing of the SDGs in the country, enabling informed and targeted investment of public funds and mobilisation of additional financing for sustainable development, particularly from the private sector.
The INFF will support BIH to: (a) conduct a development finance assessment (DFA) across different government levels for a disaggregated perspective; (b) undertake a rapid SDG-related gender responsive public expenditure review to assess current and planned allocations for SDG implementation from government sources; (c) make a rapid estimation of costs necessary for the implementation of the SDG framework with more detailed costing of implementation in priority sectors and a review of financing instruments currently in place; and (d) support inclusive elaboration of an SDG financing framework that will provide long term strategic direction to national partners for integrated sustainable development financing.
